I’m Debora O’Donnell, aka Oh Apostrophe.

During the 18 years I worked for Kohl’s, I was a Copy Manager, Copy Chief, Copy Director, and Brand Communications Director. Before that I worked for Marshall Field’s as a fashion writer and in publishing as an editor. I’ve done it all: campaigns, catalogs, pitches, brand launches, cause marketing, naming, TV, radio, store communications, employee incentive and training programs, commemorative books, celebratory odes. All that adds up to one thing: I know how to tell a story, and how to sell a brand, even if that brand is you (and in a way, it’s always you).

Take a look at my work, and I’ll show you how 79 words turned into a trip to Istanbul, a travelog, and a job offer. To paraphrase Jane Austen, let us never underestimate the power of a well-written pitch.

My 15 minutes of fame.
